Terms.
The short version of how engagements work. Every project also gets its own written agreement.
Scope and price
- Every project starts from a written scope with a fixed price and milestone dates.
- Changes are agreed through a written variation, priced before the work happens.
- Payment is staged: deposit, milestones, completion.
Ownership
- On full payment, the project's code, content and domain belong to the client.
- I retain my pre-existing tools, frameworks and libraries used to build it.
- I retain the right to show the work in my portfolio unless we agree otherwise in writing.
After launch
- Every build includes a warranty period for bugs, stated in the project agreement.
- Ongoing support, hosting management or SEO are separate, clearly priced arrangements — never a surprise invoice.
The formal bit
Each engagement is governed by a signed agreement covering scope, payment, intellectual property, confidentiality, data protection, liability and termination. You'll see it before any work starts, and it's written to be read.
